This'n'That

Finally we stopped buying Kinder Surprise, because Ferrero Netherlands can't manage the development of new figures. Our consumption exceeds Ferrero's figure range, so that we have every figure now at least twice, if not in some cases 5 times.

We were evidences of a special happening in nature. Since some weeks there's a spider claiming a small hut as hers in our backyard. It's the hut where the barbecue is in. This spider is enormously big. We even skip having our awesome barbecue ceremonies. And that is a good decision since the following occurrence: Fatty, the fat cat, was lying on the roof of that hut savouring the sun. Once in a while he was waving with its down-hanging paws through the air. Suddenly the mean spider rushed out of her hut, making some hectic but tactical moves and attacked Fat Cat. Twice. We were shocked as Fatty was. We keep a security distance of 2 meters to the hut from now on.

Messages in bottles are old-fashioned, but still a way of communication. And it's a nice one. So, after having had a bbq at the Gracht and emptying a bottle of white wine, we used the same as one of the oldest mediums and wrote a letter including our email addresses. The strong current of the water in the Keizersgracht let the bottle float about 3 meters until it was trapped between boats at the shore. Water in the Grachts flows extremely slow. A snail would even overtake a floating something. So, the second try went better as we threw the bottle as far as possible from the shore. Beginning its journey at Keizersgracht 253, we expect it to be in one week at least at Keizersgracht 261.

We are in pitch again.
